ISP Represents Itself Well
On March 8, 2008 ISP formed a team to play in the annual "Bigs and
Blue" basketball competition sponsored by the Boise Police Department.
The annual event is used to raise money for the local Big Brother/ Big
Sister program. Several children benefit from positive role models in
their lives. After a hard fought battle against Boise PD in the
Championship game, ISP finished as the victor and Champions of the
tournament. The team was comprised of representatives from
Investigations, Patrol, CVS and Headquarters. The game was close, the
fouls were hard and the atmosphere was tense. At the end of the day
Boise PD can feel rewarded from raising several hundred dollars
towards a great program. Likewise, ISP should be proud of the money
raised. The championship plaque hanging on the wall in the new Region
3 building isn't bad either.
On March 15, 2008 the first annual Idaho State Employee co-ed softball
tournament was held in Boise. ISP formed a team appropriately named,
"Law and Disorder." Forming the team were representatives from Human
Resources, Forensics, Headquarters, Patrol, Investigations, Dispatch,
CVS and the Director's Office. The tournament had teams from nearly
every state agency. It was clear from the beginning that ISP was a
force to be reckoned with. ISP won 4 of their 5 games in convincing
fashion. Unfortunately, a one point loss in the final inning to the
Department of Corrections awarded ISP 2nd place in the tournament.
Everyone involved agreed the tournament was a success. Plans are
currently underway to hold an additional State Employee co-ed fall
tournament September 20, 2008. As expected, ISP will be ready!
