Chapter 5 & Chapter 6 Annual Picnic & Softball Game
The much anticipated annual Chapter 5 & 6 joint summer picnic and softball game was held on Thursday, Aug. 17. It was again held in somewhat "neutral territory" in Blackfoot.
The event was well attended and the weather cooperated (except for the nearly ever-present east Idaho breeze) helping to make this an enjoyable evening for all. "Keep it simple" was the formula for this year's picnic. Four foot sandwiches (created by The Sandwich Tree in Idaho Falls) were sliced and served with homemade root beer provided by Terry Murdock. This was subsidized by potluck desserts.
After the food was consumed and given a little time to digest, an excitement began to build as everyone moved towards the baseball diamond. Would Chapter 6 take the "traveling trophy" (plaque) from Chapter 5 ... or would it remain in Pocatello? Long story short, the plaque is still prominently displayed in the foyer of the Region 5 Patrol Office for the second consecutive year and Chapter 6 is already looking forward to next summer in hopes of reclaiming the trophy, which has graced the Region 6 Patrol Office in the past. Notwithstanding the outcome, a good time was had by all.
Here are a few photos from the event. (Thanks to Magazine Editor Marjorie Lusk for sharing these photos.)
