MISLEADING PHONE SOLICITATIONS: (02/01/08) We are very concerned about certain telephone solicitation calls that are currently being made to the citizens of this state. We have been contacted by people who have gotten telephone calls in the last few days wherein the caller claims to represent the "ISP" and is soliciting donations. These calls are NOT from ISP. The Idaho State Police (ISP) does NOT engage in fundraising. These calls are NOT from us. We are the Idaho State Police Association (ISPA), an independant employee association. Our membership is made up of current sworn ISP officers, ISP civillain employees and retired ISP officers & employees. We (ISPA) do have a fundraising center right here in Boise. We are extremely diligent in how we treat the citizens in Idaho that we call. None of our personnel from the call center state that they represent the ISP because they don't. Our call center personnel say they represent the Idaho State Police Association. [More information soon]

CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE: As I write this Chairman’s Article for the Idaho State Police Magazine, I would like to start off with thanking Representative Rich Wills for drafting, sponsoring and carrying House Bill 602 in this year’s Legislative session. Without Representative Wills’ hard work, dedication, and previous work experience with the Idaho State Police, I think 602 would have just been a dream. (FULL MESSAGE)
LEGISLATIVE NEWS: House Bill 602 was signed by Governor Kempthorne on March 30. Many thanks to the members who took the time to email, call or otherwise contact their legislators. This was a great team effort between the Idaho State Police, ISPA and key legislators. Actually there are many people to thank including Rep. Rich Wills, Chairman Fred Rice and Steve Raschke. Of course, we want to thank all of the legislators who showed their support for the men and women in ISP by passing this bill.
